What Does Lancashire Mean? Good Food

Good food Lancashire

This was the answer chosen in a survey of what people think about the city. The question was what was the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Lancashire? The survey, carried by a local research agency, highlighted the most prominent factor that gets associated with the city and the results were “Hotpot”. The local preparation took center-stage in the poll result, an answer that was already anticipated by the survey takers.

It might be pretty amusing but interesting to know, the poll suggested 53% of the people that took part in the research were not so interested in the history, culture or landmarks of the city but were inclined to the good food in Lancashire.

Hotpots made here are popular equally among the locals as well as visitors. Moreover, the local cuisine is not the only one that was voted as the most appropriate link but food items such as pies, Lancashire cheese and pudding. On the other hand, significant things, such as the Rose Emblem, were not amongst the list of favourites to the farthest vision.

While the results may be somewhat funny and something that would raise eyebrows, it is actually a good reason to associate food with the city as the hotpot is very dearly linked to the “somewhere in North” city (an answer given by a participant in the survey). The association goes deep till the cuisine’s origin in the city – a reason why we never call it merely hotpot but the Lancashire Hotpot.
